Dr. Marie Steinmetz of Inova Steinmetz Integrative and Functional Medicine Center received CHECKBOOK’s top rating for quality in the recent Consumers’ CHECKBOOK magazine. CHECKBOOK asked consumers to rate their experiences with doctors they had recently seen. The ratings include only those doctors who received ratings from at least 10 patients. Many doctors were rated “very good” or “excellent” for “overall quality” by more than 95 percent of their surveyed patients. At the other extreme, there were some doctors who got such favorable ratings from fewer than 60 percent of their surveyed patients.
In addition to ratings of surgeons (based on government data on surgeon performance) and ratings of physician specialists, Washington Consumers’ CHECKBOOK features ratings of 627 local primary care doctors, along with tips on how to choose a physician, and how to get the best care once you do.
“I am thrilled to be recognized by Consumers’ CHECKBOOK magazine,” says Dr. Steinmetz “Our board-certified family practice physicians are committed to offering patients conventional treatments, as well as acupuncture, nutritional supplements and herbs, homeopathy and osteopathic manipulation.”
Since 1997, Inova Steinmetz Integrative and Functional Medicine Center has emphasized nutrition, exercise and lifestyle adjustments for optimum health. The practices utilizes approaches that are backed by proven research and studies. Their integrative approach combines conventional and complementary therapies to facilitate healing for acute and chronic conditions.
Unlike most primary care physicians who see more than 25 patients a day, Inova Steinmetz Integrative and Functional Medicine Center limits their daily consultations to eight to 16 patients per provider. That’s because we believe outstanding medical care is achieved only when a doctor takes time to listen to patients.
