This is a great doctor of integrative medicine! At the glowing recommendation of a coworker, I had an appointment with Dr. Jeanne Shiffman, who is friendly and approachable.

Here are the key benefits of the practice overall:

• Easy to find (off 395)
• Tons of free parking
• Relaxing atmosphere - upscale without being pretentious
• Patient portal - secure online place for you to retrieve your test/lab results, get/send email from the doctor, input medical history, request appointments (this is a huge plus for me!!)
• Tons of individual attention, by nurses and then doctor. Easily spent 1 hour with Dr. Shiffman!!
• Great follow-up, through the portal, a nurse's phone call, and a (I swear!) mailed hand-written note from Dr. Shiffman!
• Practices integrative medicine. She ran tests my traditional doctor didn't, like vitamin deficiency and iron storage (not just iron levels), and found a number of things that the other doctor had been looking for for more than a year and a half!

For context, I was not expecting to be impressed by Steinmetz, since I've always been quite leary of integrative medicine (I grew up in a medical family that sneered at floofy, new-age medicine), so I'm pretty surprised by how much of a convert I am now! I've discovered that integrative medicine looks toward proactively helping your body be well, rather than stumble around trying to fix it once it's sick. Pretty cool approach, and I can definitely see the benefit of it!
