Jeanne Willis Shiffman, M.D., DABFP
Jeanne Shiffman, M.D. is board certified in family medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
After majoring in Russian Studies at the University of Virginia and working as a federal employee for over six years, Dr. Shiffman decided to enter the medical field to make a difference on a personal, one-on-one level. She graduated from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2000 and completed a residency in family medicine at the Georgetown University / Providence Hospital program in Washington, DC. Dr. Shiffman has worked in private practice since 2004. She has studied medical acupuncture through the Helms Institute / UCLA, the leading institution for acupuncture training for physicians, and she continues to attend acupuncture courses and seminars to advance her knowledge.
Dr. Shiffman champions a holistic approach to healthcare. In addition to acupuncture, she has interest in other complementary modalities, such as bio-identical hormone replacement, homeopathy and yoga. She is happy to discuss different treatment options-traditional and complementary-with her patients. She knows that may of her patients are eager to not only treat disease with as few pills as possible, but also to promote their health and vitality. Dr. Shiffman enjoys seeing patient of all ages. She enjoys counseling and working with her patients in a collaborative manner to help them feel their best.
